Looking for a unique location for a fantastic vacation? Look no further.
The Jarvis Suites building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The facade is protected and any changes must be approved by the Historic Preservation Board.
Built in 1890, the building was originally the "Gem Theatre" which brought the culture of moving picture shows to Durango. Locals were able to watch such actors as Rudolf Valentino, Mary Pickford, and other silent film stars.
In 1984, the theatre was remodeled into the current building, the Jarvis Suites. In 2007, the current owner of this unit took the space down to the studs, updating wiring and plumbing, carefully preserving the history of the unit. Enjoy the original exposed brick along the south interior wall.
New wood floors were added along with kitchen cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops.
This one bedroom (queen), one bath unit has additional sleeping space with a queen sized pull out sleeper sofa. Also, enjoy your own private parking place off Main Street, a common area with a BBQ grill and Hot Tub, and a coin operated laundry room.
Walk everywhere in this fantastic downtown location - Admit it, wouldn't you rather be here?
